Episode No: 45

Title: Future World

Summary

While the gang looks at the world of the future, Christine attempts to tell the future through horoscopes, then crystal balls, then tarot cards, then fortune cookies (which are all bad!) and, finally, the palm of her hand. But she can never get it right! According to this episode, the future will consist of 100 percent better video games ($.50 instead of .25 at Blips), football losers winning the cup, people with four arms, a nuclear war destroying civilization, food pills, space age food, extending school grades to grade 17 and every little thing will be run by computers.

Production: You Can't Do That Television has not been replaced by a computerized program ... yet.

Trivia

  • Lance Prevert and Mike discuss getting the news from Teletext, a futuristic, cable news channel, as opposed to getting it from the newspaper. The skit has come true in the form of CNN, MSNBC, FOX NEWS, etc.
  • Another reference that comes true is Lance describing Mike's new computer as having 256 gigabytes.
